    Lansinoh hands free pump

I received this pump as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I had high expectations for this pump because I use and love Lansinoh products. This pump is easy to clean and assembled. I like the warm up phase before the pumping cycle begins. It seems to pull milk well. The downside is I think you’d need to purchase a bra specifically to hold the pumps securely in place. The pumping bra I was wearing pushed the pumps toward the center of my chest and made it feel pinchy. I wasn’t able to multitask as much as I had hoped because of this. I also was surprised that there is not a timer to keep track of how long the pumping session is. Overall I think I prefer my plug in pump despite the potential convenience of this hands free pump.

    Wonderful customer service and product

I received this product from Stellar Product Testing Panel to try out. My first pump I used I realized the first time that one of the pumps I wasn’t able to change the suction power. It was stuck on high which caused pain. After trying it a few times with no luck I contacted customer service to trouble shoot the issue. They quickly sent another pump to switch out with the one I had. The new one worked fine and I have now used it multiple times with no issue. I love the easiness to put together, pour and clean. It truly is super simple. Not only is it easy to pump on the go but it comes with different size flange inserts which I love as I’m not an average size and I didn’t have to go buy another product to use this. I’ve used this pump while cleaning around the house, driving and working. Worth it to get the wearable pump rather than be stuck to a wall.

You will not regret this purchase

This is my very first hands free pump. Prior to this, I was a skeptic of hands free pumps and I was worried it would decrease my milk supply or not be as efficient. I work part time outside of the home and I commute 45 minutes to work. These are excellent for pumping in the car and allowed me to do work (send emails, walk around my office, eat) during pumping times. When I am home, I wear these while doing the dishes and getting ready. I do not miss the tubing from my other electric pump and carrying around the pump while I tried to do things. These pumps are so freeing!! I got the same amount of milk with these Lansinoh pumps as with my pump with tubing. I found the pieces easy to wash and assemble. The first few times I used the wearable pump, it was tricky for me to get the pieces together and get them clicked in correctly. Over time this has gotten easier. It takes a little practice with pouring the milk out as well without spilling. I love that these came with multiple flange sizes. I had some pain at first, but when I adjusted my flange size no more issues! The battery life on these is awesome as well! I have already been recommending these to family and friends who are going to have babies. I have been using these for about 4 weeks.

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump.

Hands free is the life for me

I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I am so thankful for it! I exclusively pump for my 8 week old and also have a 7 and 10 year old at home. As a busy Mom of 3 I need my hands free at all times and I also need to not be tied down to tubes and wires! So I was very excited to give the wearable pumps a try.

I loved that these came with different flange sizes and that they were silicone as I prefer them over plastic but would have liked to see smaller sizes offered. I made the 21mm work but usually a 17mm fits me best. The output was fantastic! Lots of different settings but the lowest actually worked perfectly. The charge lasted about a total of 3 hours (six 30min pumps)

I do have to say there was one thing that stopped me from fully loving these, and that is how difficult they are to snap together. Oddly enough taking them apart wasn’t an issue just putting them together. I do have minor carpal tunnel so perhaps that’s why but I had to flip the cups over onto a table, put my hand on top and press down using my body weight to get them to snap. Not ideal but I also wouldn’t say this is a deal breaker for me because the convenience of wearing these literally anywhere, and how well they empty my breasts, makes up for it.

    Overall I’d absolutely recommend these!

    Room for improvement

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump to test. I was excited to try The Lansinoh Wearable Pump for the convenience of hands free pumping. Unfortunately, right away I ran into some problems with the set up. I had difficulty snapping the containers closed which effected the suctioning and pumping. I realized you need to give the containers a VERY hard squeeze to get them fully closed. Once I figured that out I was ready to go! The pumps themselves worked fine, I got slightly less milk than I do from my other pumps. There was definitely a learning curve with the buttons/functions and figuring out the let down/expression settings. It was not as intuitive as other pumps I have tried. One pro of the pump was they are fairly small and fit well inside my bra. One feature that stood out was that the pouring hole is covered while you are pumping so there is less chance of spillage when you are moving around. I also found them to be comfortable and liked that there were 4 different size options. The silicone flange insert worked well and provided me with the optimal fit that I needed. When it came time to empty my milk I ran into a few more problems. I wish the containers had a flat bottom so that they could stand up on the counter top. I also spilled milk every time I went to pour which was very frustrating. Overall, I felt that the pump got the job done, but did not have the ease of use I would have liked. I feel that there is room for improvement with the design of the pump and the quality of the materials.

    Not enough suction

I exclusively pump for my 1-year-old, so over the last 12 months I have used all kinds of pumps. I really wanted to love this pump because of the limited number of parts that need washing, the large capacity of the cups, and the convenience of not having to wear a pumping or nursing bra all the time. But, unfortunately, it just did not perform well for me.

Only one of the pumps actually had suction at all. The one that did work performed just OK. I normally get 3-5 ounces per side and when I used this one, I got 1-2 ounces. I adjusted the modes, suction level, etc. Nothing seemed to really work very well, unfortunately. I have other pumps by this brand and love them so I was really looking forward to trying this.

Besides the lack of suction entirely on one pump and lack of performance from the other, I would have loved to have a time read-out on the top of the motor so I knew how much time I had left to pump. I've discovered I'm pretty reliant on that countdown for my pump sessions.

All of those things aside, I did like that the kit came with flange inserts and different-sized flanges. That is especially helpful for newly postpartum folks because they don't need to buy so many different parts to figure out their size. I also like that the charger is a standard USB-C instead of something proprietary.

I received this pump set as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
